This email is from my sister Lisa. Our sister Valerie has not contacted us yet. I don't have the spelling of her last name with me. Her name is Valerie (Kazpacrz). I know I'm totally messing up her last name. Her husband is Terry, daughter is Jessica, son is Mikhail.

Letter:
I hope no one has any friends or loved ones affected by the Hurricane. If you do, I hope they are doing well and escaped harm.

Unfortunately, my sister Valerie, her husband and my niece and nephew decided to stay in the city. They are in an older part of the city on Delgado Drive, it's only a couple of miles from the French Quarter. They live in a two story house with an attic, and were holed up in one of the upper rooms.
According to my sister they had lots of water, food,
flashlights, etc. I am also concerned about my nephew Mikhail, who is in a different part of the city staying with his Father, they are in a duplex that supposedly survived Betsy, but since it's only one story and near the water, I am very worried about him. All of them have cell phones, but I
haven't been able to get through, which doesn't surprise me. Of course, I am very concerned and if anyone has any ideas or knows about the topography/geography in that area.

Yesterday, it didn't seem as bad, as the water wasn't so high. But now I understand two of the levees were breached and approximately 80% of the city is submerged. I will update everyone when I know anything about how they are doing.
